Terms of Service

Last updated: May 3, 2026

1. Who you're agreeing with

These terms are between you and Stack Apps Inc. ("Stack," "we," "us"). By creating an account or using any Stack product (Slate, Momentum, Speak Bar, Scribble, Stack Sync, Stack Chat, Stack Stream, and any apps we add to the bundle in the future), you agree to these terms.

2. Your account

You're responsible for keeping your sign-in credentials secure and for everything that happens under your account. Tell us as soon as possible at hello@trystackapps.com if you suspect unauthorized access.

You must be at least 13 to use Stack. If you're using Stack on behalf of an organization, you confirm you have authority to bind that organization to these terms.

3. Subscription, trial & billing

Stack is sold as a single $20/month bundle covering every app we ship. Your 14-day free trial starts the moment you sign in. We won't ask for a card during the trial; we'll email you before the trial ends.

When you upgrade, billing is monthly through Stripe. You can cancel any time from the billing page in your dashboard. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period — we don't pro-rate refunds for partial months.

4. Acceptable use

Use Stack the way it was meant to be used: for your own productivity and your team's. Don't use Stack to send spam, harass others, store illegal content, attempt to break our security, scrape our APIs at volume, or build a product that competes directly with us using data exported from Stack.

We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms. We'll usually warn you first; we won't if the violation puts other users or our infrastructure at risk.

5. Your content stays yours

The notes you take, the meetings you record, the tasks you create — all of it belongs to you. We need a license to process it (sync it across devices, run search, generate transcripts and summaries, deliver it back to you) but we don't claim ownership and we don't sell or share your content with third parties for advertising.

Export is built into every Stack app. If you cancel, you can take your data with you.

6. Service availability

We aim for high uptime but we don't guarantee Stack will be available 100% of the time. We'll post status updates if there's a major outage and credit accounts on a case-by-case basis when we miss our reliability targets meaningfully.

7. Changes to Stack & to these terms

Stack changes constantly. We add apps to the bundle, ship features, refine designs, and occasionally remove things that don't earn their keep. We'll email you before any breaking change to data you depend on.

We'll update these terms from time to time. If a change is material, we'll email all account owners at least 30 days before it takes effect.

8. Liability

To the maximum extent allowed by law, Stack's total liability for any claim arising from your use of the service is limited to what you've paid us in the prior 12 months. We're not liable for indirect, consequential, or punitive damages.

9. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of California. Any dispute will be resolved in the courts of San Francisco County.
